Julia Black began her career in interior design behind the camera on HGTV. From styling and assisting, she soon moved in front of the camera and continued on her path in design and media. In 2010, Julia joined the editorial team of Chatelaine Magazine, and for nearly five years helped produce and write Home Decor stories, as well as report style trends while styling the accents and props for entertaining and food stories. After 10 years, three kids, and designing her own two homes with her builder husband, she decided to create Julia Black Design Inc.

Julia and her team are passionate about minimalistic design, classical architecture, and functional living for the whole family. JBD welcomes new-build projects, renovations and restorations, and interior decorating for any space. Julia and her team love the process of design, from start to finish, and wholeheartedly love working with people to help create the home of their dreams.
